POSITION PURPOSE 

The primary function of this position is to support the monthly accounting close by performing analyses within the department and preparing audit support to ensure the successful completion of all audits. Performing AR/AP Reconciliations, Accurate Accruals, Account Reconciliations, and compliance with US GAAP are also primary functions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

DATA ENTRY & INTEGRITY: 

  • Prepare and support all required journal entries
  • Prepare support for tax returns
  • Serve as administrator for the banking system
  • Prepare daily cash forecast
  • Review BVRs to ensure proper coding and classification

REPORTING & ANALYSIS: 

  • Balance sheet account reconciliation and analysis for designated accounts
  • Report daily bank activity
  • Provide support in the preparation of financial statements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, monitor and analyze departmental and company-wide budgets and forecasts, providing insights on financial performances and variances.

CLIENT ENGAGEMENT: 

  • Significant auditor interaction with PWC, banks and all state audits.

TECHNICAL EXPERTISE: 

  • In-depth understanding of GAAP
  • Advanced excel skills and good understanding of systems

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS 

  • Ability to complete various tasks while adhering to deadlines
  • Ability to understand advanced accounting and draw appropriate conclusions that result in necessary journal entries
  • Continuous process improvement
  • Ability to juggle multiple competing priorities

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting/finance or equivalent work experience

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Understanding of GAAP
  • Knowledge of fixed assets required
  • Lease and/or Construction in Progress (CIP) preferred

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • 5-10 years of accounting experience

SALARY RANGE

  •  - $105,000, plus bonus
