Position Overview
The Human Resources Manager owns the day-to-day, operational HR function at N2G. Reporting to the Head of HR and partnering closely with the HR Generalist, this role manages all aspects of the employee lifecycle — from onboarding through offboarding. The work is dynamic and fast-paced, with priorities that shift frequently, so we're looking for someone who thrives in a hands-on, ever-changing environment.
Candidates should be based in the NJ/NY area, as periodic in-person presence at our Jersey City headquarters is required.

This Position Is Responsible For
- Oversee day-to-day HR operations, ensuring timely and accurate execution of onboarding, offboarding, and employee lifecycle transactions
- Manage and mentor an HR Generalist, reviewing their work, delegating tasks, and building their capability over time
- Maintain HRIS data accuracy — entering new hires, updating employee records, processing status changes, and running routine reports
- Serve as a point of contact for employee questions on policies, benefits, pay, and leave, escalating complex matters to the Head of HR as needed
- Handle day-to-day employee relations issues (attendance, minor conflicts, policy clarifications), escalating complex matters to the Head of HR as needed
- Facilitate the recruitment of new talent with Hiring Managers and third-party Recruiters
- Manage talent acquisition – postings- hiring manager touch bases, offer letters
- Long Term Incentive (LTI) plan – documentation management
- Process and track leave requests (FMLA, state leave, disability, parental leave), ensuring accurate documentation and timely communication with employees and managers
- Coordinate the logistics of benefits open enrollment — scheduling, employee communications, enrollment tracking, and vendor coordination
- Process compensation-related transactions (merit increases, promotions, transfers) and ensure changes are reflected accurately in HRIS platform
- Manage compliance recordkeeping and documentation (I-9s, EEO tracking, personnel files, required postings, state processing notices)
- Coordinate new hire orientation and ensure a consistent, smooth onboarding experience
- Track and follow up on performance review cycle deadlines, ensuring reviews are submitted on time
- Support exit interviews and offboarding checklists, ensuring timely final pay, and system deactivations
- Support investigations and performance improvement plans
- Troubleshoot day-to-day HRIS discrepancies in partnership with TriNet
- Coordinate with outside immigration counsel on employee visa sponsorship and work authorization matters (e.g., H-1B, L’s) ensuring timely documentation and compliance with employer obligations working closely with Head of HR
- Assist in drafting and updating HR policies, procedures, and employee-facing communications
- Ensure consistent application of company policy across teams, flagging inconsistencies to the Head of HR
- Prepare routine workforce reports (headcount, turnover, leave utilization) for the Head of HR
- Support a wide variety of all-staff communications and culture initiatives
Experience And Skill Requirements
- 5–8+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth, or distributed workforce environment, with a collaborative, team-first attitude
- Exceptional attention to detail paired with strong, creative problem-solving skills
- Reliable and accountable, with excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, while remaining agile enough to move fluidly across all levels of the organization
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities with flexibility as business needs evolve
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
- Experience with TriNet and Lattice platforms strongly preferred
Position Salary and Benefits
The annual salary for this position ranges from $85,000 to $100,000 depending on actual experience, skillset, and location. In addition to base salary, full-time N2G employees are also eligible for bonus potential.
