Crestron Electronics is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering Services team and support the development of Crestron’s Audio/Video product family, which includes solutions for AV signal distribution, switching, transport, and AV-over-IP across environments ranging from conference rooms and classrooms to enterprise and campus-wide deployments.
This role will be responsible for leading mechanical design activities across the full product development lifecycle for Audio/Video hardware platforms, collaborating cross-functionally with Hardware, Electrical, Firmware, Manufacturing, Quality, and Product Management teams to deliver high-quality, reliable, manufacturable, and cost-effective products.
This is a hybrid role in the office 3 days a week.
Responsibilities:
Design of electronic enclosures, brackets, internal assemblies, cable management features, thermal solutions, and mounting schemes for rack-mounted, tabletop, wall-mounted, and embedded DM products.
Develop detailed 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, mechanical specifications, tolerance analyses, and BOM documentation to support product development and release.
Perform engineering analyses related to thermal performance, structural integrity, vibration, tolerance stack-up, fit-and-finish, and long-term reliability.
Support prototype builds, engineering validation, design verification, regulatory testing, and new product introduction activities.
Communicate design status, technical risks, tradeoffs, and recommendations clearly to cross-functional teams and engineering leadership.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering required- Master’s preferred
6-8 years Mechanical engineering experience in new product development for electronic or electromechanical products, preferably in AV, networking, communications, control systems, or related industries.
6-8 years Demonstrated experience designing mechanical solutions for electronics packaging, thermal management, EMI-conscious enclosure design, and manufacturable assemblies.
6-8 years Strong understanding of tolerance analysis, GD&T, design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), and design for reliability (DFR).
6-8 years Strong proficiency with 3D CAD modeling (Creo preferred)
