The Director of Human Resources oversees the overall strategic direction, planning, coordination, administration, and evaluation of the human resources function. The director is responsible for developing and ensuring the effective implementation of plans, systems, policies, and processes for workforce planning, talent acquisition, talent management and development, employee engagement, legal compliance and recordkeeping, employee relations, total rewards (compensation and benefits), and payroll. This position requires a strategic business partner who is collaborative and capable of building consensus and commitment toward shared outcomes. Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
The position is in-person, located in New Jersey.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for the effective and efficient implementation of training functions. Oversees new employee orientation sessions, on-the-job training, refresher and individual training, and volunteer training. Recommends and assists in formulating training programs and determining instructional methods, including individual instruction, group instruction, demonstrations, and workshops; selects or develops training aids such as handbooks, visual aids, and tutorials. Tracks trainees’ progress through routine tests, observations, and feedback from supervisors and evaluates the effectiveness of the training program.
Responsible for the effective and efficient implementation of human resources functions. Administers the company’s compensation plan and job descriptions. Recommends and administers an effective recruiting program and conducts exit and stay interviews. Ensures that accurate, current personnel information is available to other departments and organizations as required.
Manages the company’s recruiting and selection activities to identify critical skill needs and recruit, place, or transfer internal and external managers, professionals, technicians, and support staff to ensure adequate staffing levels.
Promotes all aspects of departmental projects and allocates financial and talent resources appropriately.
Implements policies to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, including but not limited to the FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, FLSA, and other federal, state, and local laws. Keeps the procedure manual updated.
Responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of effective human resources strategies and policies. Assists senior management in developing short- and long-term objectives, goals, and strategies. Administers operational plans, policies, and goals that further strategic objectives.
Administers the company’s benefit programs. Works with the administrative assistant to consult with and advise employees on their eligibility for these and other related benefits. Ensures compliance with all legal requirements for HR programs and that reports are completed as required. Compares vendors to identify cost savings.
Ensures that performance plan objectives are based on the essential functions of the job and tied to the accomplishment of departmental and corporate goals. Ensures that managers document and provide appropriate positive and negative feedback throughout the year and complete reviews in a timely manner.
Must comply with all company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, the USA PATRIOT Act, and regulations administered by the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Performs primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds. Must be capable of climbing and descending stairs in an emergency. Must be able to operate routine office equipment, including a telephone, copier, facsimile machine, and calculator. Must be able to work on a computer for an average of six to eight hours per day when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of traveling by automobile as a driver or passenger, commercial airline, rental vehicle, and public transportation and of lodging in public accommodations. Must maintain regular, reliable, and timely attendance.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in a climate-controlled private office with minimal noise.
