Accounts Receivable Manager

Our client is a well-established real estate firm seeking to add an Accounts Receivable Manager to their growing team. We are seeking qualified candidates coming with a real estate accounts receivable background. The RTO is 4days onsite located in the Bergen County NJ area. The compensation range is ($125K-$140K) base + bonus.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Accounts Receivable team.
  • Communicate regularly with tenants to ensure timely rent and payment collections.
  • Create and implement effective strategies to reduce outstanding receivables.
  • Collaborate with tenants and internal teams to resolve questions related to open balances.
  • Investigate and reconcile payment discrepancies, including differences between billed and received amounts.
  • Maintain detailed records and notes on tenant accounts and outstanding charges.
  • Enforce departmental policies and procedures while tracking performance against KPIs and company objectives.
  • Manage tenant default situations and related legal or litigation matters in coordination with internal and external partners.
  • Monitor tenant financial health and relevant news to evaluate the likelihood of future rent collection.
  • Prepare monthly internal reports and provide updates to leadership as needed.
  • Train, mentor, and support the development of team members.
  • Review and document internal controls related to AR processes.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and evaluate new tools or technologies to enhance efficiency.
  • Assist with additional projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 10–15+ years of experience in an Accounts Receivable leadership or supervisory role.
  • Prior experience within retail real estate is preferred.
  • Familiarity with MRI or Yardi systems is a plus.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
  • Self-driven, detail-oriented professional with strong integrity, work ethic, and accountability.
