    Description: 

    The district seeks an Administrative Assistant to serve in the main office at Ramapo High School. This is a 10-month position.

     

    Reports to: 

    Principal or designee

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Perform administrative assistant and clerical tasks of a varied nature. Tasks will require a thorough knowledge of the rules and regulations of the schools and school system, and the frequent exercise of independent judgment.
    • Handle correspondence of the office, responding to routine requests for information, and transcribing, word processing, and proofing letters and responses.
    • Act as a receptionist when necessary, greeting visitors, answering telephone calls in a professional and efficient manner, communicating effectively in routine, sensitive, and confidential matters.
    • Make announcements and operate the school intercom system as necessary.
    • Work cooperatively with all staff in other offices with the completion of large or time sensitive projects or emergencies.
    • Keep track of postage on the machine and prepare labels for mailings.
    • Provide completed student accident insurance forms to the nurse, parents, and file, as necessary.
    • Manage student sign in/sign out for late arrival and early dismissal, including any documentation and notes required.
    • Prepare weekly online bulletin and update school website.
    • Programs the exterior electronic school sign and keeps messages current.
    • Perform other duties as may be assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • High school diploma: college degree preferred
    • Knowledge of automated office equipment and district computer technology
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    Compensation:

    In accordance with the current RIHEA Agreement, with a salary range of $50,525 to $62,054.
