    POSITION TYPE: 
    Administrative Assistant to the Assistant Superintendent, Full-Time 12-Month Position, available July 1st.

    REPORTS TO:
    Assistant Superintendent 
     

    POSITION PURPOSE: To support the operations of the Assistant Superintendent Office.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    Knowledge of general bookeeping procedures, good computer knowledge with excellent typing, written and oral communication skills, and meet qualifications as specified by the Board of Education.

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
    1.    Supervise and manage the routine functions of the Assistant Superintendent's Office. Open and review mail, including confidential correspondence. Maintain related records and files.
    2.    Maintain effective working relationships with the administration, staff, vendors, and the public, and deal with public relations problems promptly, courteously, and tactfully.
    3.    Prepare and verify with the Business Office and Superintendent's Office all legal and confidential documents, including but not limited to employee contracts, abstracts, legal notices and resolutions, negotiation proposals, grievance responses,
           and other pertinent documents.
    4.    Attend administrative meetings such as agenda meetings where personnel matters, board policy, grievances, closed session items, etc., may be discussed.
    5.    In the absence of the Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent, support that office and perform such duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
    6.    Prepare reports and correspondence, including confidential information, as the Assistant Superintendent assigns. Maintain calendars of the Assistant Superintendent and other administrators who report to the Assistant Superintendent.
    7.    Manage data and information to meet the New Jersey Department of Education reporting requirements.
    8.    Support Career and Technical Education program and Admissions and Recruitment operations and events.
    9.    Manage and support college articulation agreements.
    10.  Support satellite program relationships and agreements.
    11.   Assist in managing grant applications and implementation.
    12.  Manage professional development requests and support program implementation.
    13.  Support curriculum development and revisions and New Jersey Student Learning Standard alignment.
    14.  Help the Assistant Superintendent prepare presentations for the Board of Education, the public, and other organizations.
    15.  Work with the Assistant Superintendent to create motions for the Board of Education meetings.
    16.  Manage supplies and work orders for the Assistant Superintendent's Office and all other central office staff reporting to the Assistant Superintendent.
    17.  Help prepare and manage the budget for the Assistant Superintendent's Office and related programs and functions.
    18.  Perform all other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent.

    COMPENSATION:
    In compliance with New Jersey's Pay Transparency Law, the salary range for this position is $65,000 to $75,000. This position is also eligible for a comprehensive benefits package including health, prescription, dental and vision insurance, a retirement plan, sick, personal, bereavement and family illness days.
