Anticipated School Business Administrator/Board Secretary

We are seeking a dynamic School Business Administrator/Board Secretary to help lead a high-performing school district committed to excellence, innovation, and student success.
This is more than a traditional business office position - it's an opportunity to shape the operational backbone of a district where every decision supports teaching and learning. As a trusted advisor to the Superintendent and Board of Education, you will play a critical role in ensuring financial integrity, operational excellence, and transparent governance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- NJDOE issued School Business Administrator Certificate
- Experience in budget preparation and administration and understanding of statutory and code requirements related to school budgeting
- Understanding of the principles and practices of financial accounting and reporting procedures consistent with statute, code and GAAP requirements
- Knowledge of statutory requirements and accepted practices in school districts related to insurance, purchasing, transportation, food services, school plant operations and facility planning
- Demonstrated organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drive the district's budget strategy and financial planning
- Lead and modernize business operations, including finance, facilities, and support services
- Ensure compliance, accountability, and best practices across all operational areas
- Oversee capital projects and long-range facilities planning
- Serve as Board Secretary, supporting effective and transparent governance
- Build strong partnerships across departments to support district-wide success

SALARY: $185,000 - $225,000
The salary range reflects the anticipated base compensation for this position. Final salary placement will be determined based on the selected candidate's relevant education, years of experience, and alignment with the District's negotiated salary guide and/or placement practices.
