New Jersey Advanced Spine & Pain Institute (NASPI) is a premier orthopedic and pain management practice dedicated to providing exceptional patient care. We are seeking a detail-oriented, experienced Bookkeeper to manage our financial records and support the business operations of our Secaucus office.

Job Summary

The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring the office's fiscal health. The ideal candidate is a QuickBooks expert who understands the nuances of financial management within a healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate ledgers by recording all day-to-day financial transactions in QuickBooks.

  • Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage vendor payments, track practice expenses, and oversee patient billing cycles and collections.

  • Reconciliation: Conduct monthly bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure all accounts align with internal records.

  • Payroll Support: Assist with payroll processing and ensure all employee financial records are up to date.

  • Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Balance Sheets, P&L) for practice leadership.

  • Compliance: Ensure all financial practices adhere to healthcare regulations and standard accounting principles.

Mandatory Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional bookkeeping experience.

  • Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks (Desktop or Online) is required.

  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Healthcare Background: Prior experience working in a doctor’s office, orthopedic practice, or healthcare facility is highly preferred.

  • Medical Billing Awareness: Familiarity with medical codes or the intersection of clinical billing and general bookkeeping.

  • Local Candidate: Proximity to the Secaucus/Hudson County area.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • Ability to handle sensitive financial and patient information with total confidentiality (HIPAA compliance).

  • Professional communication skills for interacting with vendors and practice staff.
