    QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. High School Diploma/GED
    2. Minimum of three years electrical maintenance exp.
    3. Electrically trained, with a minimum Journeyman's Electrician Certification.
    4. Ability to lift 70lbs, climb ladders, and not afraid of heights
    5. Strong electrical trouble-shooting capability
    6. Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status. 


    REPORTS TO: Director of Buildings and Grounds
     
    JOB GOAL: To provide electrical assistance and other maintenance jobs assigned by the Director.
     
    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Plans layouts, installs, and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment.
    2. Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable writing, consistent with specifications and local electric codes.
    3. Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceiling, and flooring.
    4. Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit, using such tools as hacksaw, pipe threader, and conduit bender.
    5. Pulls wiring through conduit, assisted by helper.
    6. Splices wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads with pliers and terminal caps.
    7. Connects wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment, using hand tools.
    8. Installs control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays, and circuit� breaker panels, fastening in place with screws or bolts, using hand tools and power tools.
    9. Connects power cables to equipment, such as electric range or motor, and installs grounding leads.
    10. Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components, using testing instruments, such as ohmmeter, multimeter and circuit tracer.
    11. Observing functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation or replacement.
    12. May repair faulty equipment or systems.
    13. Test and make repairs to Univents, exhaust fans, and small motors. If the item cannot be repaired, take it to an electric motor repair shop.
    14. When a specific trade job is caught up, may be asked to assist in any phase of maintenance repair work, or any priority job that may arise.
    15. Performs other such duties as required by the Director of Buildings and Grounds.

     TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 months. Salary to be determined by the Board of Education.
