POSITION SUMMARY

The Human Resources Generalist provides administrative and operational support to the HR Manager and plays a key role in ensuring smooth day-to-day HR functions. This role involves coordinating employee onboarding, supporting HRIS and benefits administration, maintaining records and compliance, and assisting with employee relations and communications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Recruitment & Onboarding 

  • Post job openings on the careers page, job boards, and internal channels; help manage the applicant tracking system.
  • Coordinate interview logistics, background checks, and 30/60/90-day check-ins.
  • Support new hire onboarding and orientation, including scheduling, equipment and desk setup, keycard access, swag box creation and checklist tracking

Benefit Administration

  • Respond to general benefit inquiries or escalate to HR Manager as needed.
  • Support benefit billing processes in collaboration with the Finance team.
  • Track leave requests and ensure appropriate documentation is on file.
  • Assist with annual benefits enrollment and employee communications.

HRIS & Data Support

  • Maintain and update employee data in the HRIS (e.g., Paylocity), including roles, teams, salaries, and contact information.
  • Manage time and attendance records, including manual edits and timecard audits.
  • Assist with the Web Benefits module and maintain documentation of workflows across all HRIS modules.

Compliance & Administrative Support

  • Prepare HR documentation such as offer letters, termination notices, and updated job descriptions.
  • Maintain the company’s organizational chart and update templates, forms, and spreadsheets as needed.
  • Assist with employee file audits, QMS and IT reporting, and general HR project support.
  • Ensure all HR files and records meet compliance and policy standards.
  • Support policy rollouts by distributing updated information and tracking acknowledgments.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for incoming phone calls, mail, and faxes.
  • Assist with drafting and distributing company-wide communications.

Employee Relations and Additional Support

  • Provide first-line support for employee questions and escalate more complex issues to the HR Manager.
  • Contribute to employee appreciation, engagement, and wellness initiatives.



Requirements

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree 

JOB QUALIFICATONS

  • Proven work experience in Human Resources, preferably in a Generalist or Coordinator role
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of employment laws, human resources processes and best practices
  • Experience with HRIS systems, preferably Paylocity
  • Ability to handle sensitive data in a confidential matter
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office

YEARS’ EXPERIENCE

  • 3-5 years experience in Human Resources 

TECHNOLOGY/SOFTWARE KNOWLEDGE

  • Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, Word and Power Point
  • HRIS Software; Paylocity preferred 
  • Atlassian Confluence and Jira, a plus  

REQUIRED TRAVEL

  • 10%

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. 
  • The individual is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer screen and extensive reading. The individual in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. The individual must be able to remain in a stationary position 70% of the time.
