Position Overview:
This position is a leadership role responsible for overseeing core accounting functions while partnering closely with cost accounting, pricing, and quoting activities. It plays a critical role in supporting higher-level accounting judgment, maintaining financial statement integrity, and driving cross-functional collaboration.
Managing a small team, this role serves as a key financial partner to Sales, Product Development, and Operations, supporting business performance through financial reporting, pricing support, and cross-functional decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee general accounting activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
- Ensure accurate reporting across financial statements and support higher-level accounting decisions.
- Review and analyze financial results for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards.
- Support audit processes and maintain strong internal controls and documentation.
- Partner with cost accounting to analyze product costs and margin performance.
- Own pricing and quoting activities, ensuring profitability and alignment with cost structures.
- Provide financial insights to support pricing decisions, margin improvement initiatives, and new product launches.
- Serve as a financial partner to Sales, Operations, and Product teams.
- Work directly with Sales stakeholders on pricing, quotes, and margin-related questions.
- Communicate financial concepts clearly and confidently in fast-moving or challenging discussions.
- Manage and develop a small team of direct reports across accounting and operational support functions.
- Provide mentorship, performance feedback, and guidance to promote accountability and professional growth.
- Review team output for accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to best practices.
Qualifications:
- CPA required.
- Manufacturing experience required.
- Approximately 3 to 4 years of progressive accounting experience with increasing responsibility.
- Prior audit experience, ideally supporting manufacturing organizations, is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of financial statements and how accounting activity flows through the P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently and apply sound accounting judgment.
- Comfortable interfacing with assertive stakeholders across Sales and Operations.
- Professional confidence and resilience in navigating challenging conversations.
- Demonstrated leadership mindset and interest in team development.
Salary Range: $115k - $135k
